SKPD design process combines informed intuition and rigorous development, guided by 'the project'. A project starts with a clear definition of a problem, followed by research to gather meaningful insights and to identify a clear point of view that can drive the development of form. Design process must go beyond universal problem solving to define a specific point of view which positions the design relative to competing cultural/market ideas. The best designs embody a strong idea delivered with bold form to address a new need or behavior. These images, from a variety of different projects, show some of the techniques used in the circuit of thinking and making that defines our design process.
